In this article, I am going to explore three holistic herbs to treat kidney failure.
Renal failure is becoming more common each year in the United States and the rest of the world as well, mostly Third World countries, mainly due to high incidences of diabetes, poor diet and hypertension. In spite of public alerts regarding required exercise requirements and dietary controls for maintaining health, there is great dependence disease-modifyingand risk-reducing and drugs as well as surgical procedures for coping with the negative effects of modern lifestyle problems.
The rise of renal conditions also occurs due to general immune conditions (e.g., glucose, ITP), repeated or severe renal infections, chronic use of certain nephrotoxic drugs and primary kidney disorders, such as polycystic kidney disease and glomerulonephritis.
Once the disorder becomes end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and a substantial fraction of nephrons are damaged, kidneydisease is usually progressive, save for instances of temporarily decline in renal activity that can arise due to various causes.
Here is a list of useful herbs in case of both acute and chronic renal failure:
1. Rhubarb – rhubarb is usedin the treatment of renal failure,a disease characterized by a root problem of deficiency (which permits the degradation) and accumulation of damp and turbidity and an excess of mainly blood stagnation.
Rhubarb is usedto treat the excess via its diuretic and purgative qualities as well as its blood-tonifying quality. It also decreases the excessive amount of urea and creatinine from the human body. While relieving this condition, treatments for the root deficiencies can be utilized, relying mainly on tonic formulas that address the specific type of deficiency (e.g., qi deficiency, Yin deficiency, etc.).
2. Salvia Off – Salvia is utilizedin the treatment of chronic renal insufficiency in Nepal, India and China for many years. Japanese researchers in 1989, reported isolating a constituent of Salvia that helps promote renal function. This constituent, is known as lithospermate B. likethe whole root of Salvia, this ingredient is believed to boost plasma blood flow, decrease creatinine, urea and glomerular filtration rate in the kidneys of laboratory animals suffering from renal failure; later, it was shown to benefit diabetic nephropathy and to improve renal microcirculation.
